1. Introduction
SparkRoom ("the App", "we", "our") is a mobile party-game app. You browse or create small game rooms, play short personality and guessing games, chat inside the room, and optionally turn on your microphone or camera. When your camera is on, you see your own live preview — it is the only time the camera is used.
We care about your privacy. Your profile, game history, gems, and preferences are stored locally on your device. This build does not create traditional user accounts and does not upload your personal content to our servers.
2. Information We Process
The App processes the following categories of information, stored locally on your device:
- Profile data: your display name and optional profile photo.
- Progress & rewards: level, XP, gem balance, games played, wins, and gifts sent.
- Game activity: which games you played and how often, and round results.
- Social state: friends, friend requests, and any players you have muted or blocked.
- Preferences: onboarding completion, notification setting, and daily reward timers.
This information is stored on your device and is not sold.
3. On-Device Storage
Your preferences, game progress, profile photo, and social state are stored on your device using UserDefaults and the local file system. If you delete the app, this locally stored data is permanently removed.
4. Camera & Microphone
Every game room is text-first. Camera and microphone are completely optional and off by default.
- Camera: when you turn it on inside a room, the app shows your own front-camera preview so others in a room can see you during the game. It is also used if you take a profile photo.
- Microphone: when you turn it on inside a room, it lets you talk to other players during the game.
- Your control: both are toggled on and off by you at any time from the room controls, and the camera session stops when you leave the room.
5. Gameplay & Social
Games are short rounds with a countdown, answer selection, and a final leaderboard. You earn XP and gems for playing. Gifts (such as tea, coffee, soup, and cake) are decorative social interactions bought with in-app gems — they carry no monetary value and do not unlock private messaging.
To keep the community friendly, you can send or accept friend requests, and you can mute, report, or block other players from a room or from your friends list. Private one-to-one messaging is available only after a friend request is accepted.
6. Device Permissions
SparkRoom may request the following device permissions:
- Camera: to show your own live preview inside a room and to take a profile photo. Optional.
- Microphone: to let you talk to other players inside a room. Optional.
- Photo Library: to choose a profile photo. Photos are stored locally.
- Notifications: to send you optional reminders and room-related alerts.
- Tracking (ATT): if you allow it, used to measure marketing performance (see Analytics & Measurement).
All permissions are optional and can be changed at any time in your device's Settings. Denying a permission simply disables the related feature.
7. Push Notifications
With your permission, SparkRoom may send push notifications — for example friendly reminders to come back and play, or alerts related to rooms and friends. We use a device push token to deliver these messages. You can turn notifications off at any time from your device Settings.
8. Analytics & Measurement
To understand how the app is used and to measure the performance of our marketing, SparkRoom uses industry-standard tools:
- Firebase (Google): anonymous, aggregated usage and diagnostics analytics that help us improve the app and fix crashes.
- Adjust: mobile attribution that tells us which campaign led you to install the app. This may process device identifiers such as the IDFA (only if you allow tracking) and IDFV.
If you do not allow tracking when prompted, advertising identifiers are not used for attribution. These providers process data under their own privacy policies.
9. Your Choices
- Edit profile: change your display name and profile photo from the Profile tab.
- Manage people: remove friends, and mute, report, or block other players at any time.
- Notifications & tracking: enable or disable them from your device Settings.
- Revoke permissions: disable camera, microphone, or photo access from Settings.
- Uninstall: deleting the app removes all locally stored data.
10. Children's Privacy
SparkRoom is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in app features or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
